Potential Property Sales
Recent property news has been announcing a whole raft of large commercial properties to be put on the market, showing that confidence in the property market is still at an all time high.
Three City of London offices are set to come to market next month, together worth around £350m.
Property Week disclosed that German closed-ended fund HIH Global Invest is looking to sell two of its holdings, 100 New Bridge Street and Friary Court, for around £150m and £60m respectively. US investor Cornerstone Real Estate is set to put 40 Gracechurch Street on the market for a guide price of £140m.
As Ben mentioned in his blog of 21 August, Blackstone have put a £550m price tag on the Devonshire Estate and is marketing High Holborn Estate for £130m and One America Square for £150m.
Meanwhile, Hines is working up plans to sell Cannon Place for around £500m and has Broadgate Quarter under offer for £432m. Land Securities is thought to be working up plans to sell the former News UK headquarters at Thomas More Square for around £300m; Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) has appointed agents to sell 5 Fleet Place at £140m; and Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management will bring forward the Helicon for a similar price.
Lewis Moody Puts His House on Airbnb for the Rugby World Cup
Lewis Moody the rugby player and former England Captain, has placed his own home on Airbnb while he is away for the Rugby World Cup,
The listing, for one week only in September, will give fans access to the luxury home in Bradford-on-Avon, as well as a "huge" garden with its own rugby posts.
Proceeds from the week, based on £150 per night, will go to the Lewis Moody Foundation in support of the Brain Tumour Charity.
Included on the listing are the house rules:
– No Pets
– No Welsh or All Blacks shirts
– Any chanting of the Haka will not be tolerated
– No parties (unless England win the World Cup, in which case give me a call!)
– Compulsory singing of 'God Save The Queen' at 8am every morning.
The listing describes the property as a four-bed Victorian villa-style property, with three bathrooms, a conservatory and a "large garden equipped with decking, garden furniture and a set of rugby posts and rugby balls".
Details about the surrounding neighbourhood specify: "Bradford’s locals are very friendly, which is good if you’re planning on bringing a Wales or an All Blacks shirt because you won’t be allowed in the house, so you’ll have plenty of time outside to explore the area instead!"
