On Saturday evening, Ben, Tasmeen, Nick and I, attended the Mayor of Merton's Charity Ball that took place at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon. The event was held to raise funds for the Mayor’s chosen charities: Shooting Star Chase and Merton Street Pastors. Both great causes; Shooting Star Chase is a children's hospice charity caring for babies, children and young babies with life-limiting conditions and their families. Local charity, Merton Street Pastors is a made up of 40 dedicated church volunteers helping people in Mitcham and Wimbledon late at night on the weekends to get home safely and trying to prevent anti-social behaviour. The event raised over £20,000 for the charities.
WSM were delighted to sponsor the event along with Morrisons Solicitors, who we shared a table with. The venue was beautifully decorated; the food, stunning; and it was lovely to see the Merton community dressed in their finery for the occasion. As ever, a fun night was had by all, with the WSM team being one of the last to leave the dance floor!
