The bi-annual EuropeFides AGM took place last weekend in the beautiful city of Vienna and what better time to do so, giving us the opportunity to speak to our connections across the continent following the Brexit vote a couple of weeks ago.
Brexit was high on the subject matter with Simon stepping up to speak a few words on it and assure people that WSM are still keen to continue building and supporting our relations in EuropeFides. The main topic of the meeting was compliance, corruption and anti-bribery, with talks from Robert-Jan van der Wart from De Clercq and a panel of members discussing how to deal with anti-money laundering.
The members were then introduced to new firms from India, Latvia and Morocco all bidding for membership, showing the growth of EuropeFides into a global association, linking companies from all over the world. Members were then able to enjoy a performance from a classical string quartet and then a cocktail reception on the Friday evening. Saturday provided the opportunity for more socialising with a visit to the Schönbrunn Palace and a traditional Viennese dinner with views over the city.

Amanda graduated from Brunel University, with a joint honours degree, achieving a BSC and BA degree in Leisure Management and Television and film studies. Amanda started her career in a customer service role before joining the hotel group Le Meridien as an Events coordinator, she was in the hotel industry for seven years and during her time won an award from a major international airline for her outstanding attitude and dedication to customer service, which she achieved while working for the Rezidor hotel group in the position of Airline Crew Manager. Amanda has over 20 years experience in customer relations and event management.
