WSM Partners spent a weekend in Amsterdam with delegates from legal and accounting firms across Europe hosted by our Dutch associates Cox & Partners, for this summer’s EuropeFides conference.
The conference was held in the delightful Grote Club on Dam Square where, in May 1945, two days after the German surrender, German soldiers shot into the assembled crowd who were waiting for the arrival of the liberating Canadian troops.
Fortunately there was no such conflict amongst the delegates who came from the furthest corners of the continent to discuss ways in which Europefides members could work more closely together. In particular the members agreed to appoint Melina Pyrgou, our Cypriot member, as a manager to try and pull the network together in a more coordinated way and improve levels of communication amongst the member firms – an important step in helping our clients who are looking to do business in Europe.
We concluded our successful weekend with a visit to the North Sea coast and a traditional lunch of fresh raw Herring with our excellent Dutch hosts, Wim and Eefje Cox.

Amanda graduated from Brunel University, with a joint honours degree, achieving a BSC and BA degree in Leisure Management and Television and film studies. Amanda started her career in a customer service role before joining the hotel group Le Meridien as an Events coordinator, she was in the hotel industry for seven years and during her time won an award from a major international airline for her outstanding attitude and dedication to customer service, which she achieved while working for the Rezidor hotel group in the position of Airline Crew Manager. Amanda has over 20 years experience in customer relations and event management.
