Our managing partner Wendy Patterson will be a guest speaker at a real estate breakfast seminar on the 18 March hosted by Russell Cooke which will focus on acquiring property by way of share sales/acquisitions.
Wendy will speak about the tax and financial implications of the acquisition of shares in a property company and will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the acquisition of shares and what should be covered during financial and tax due diligence.
Joining Wendy will be Thomas Ferguson, senior associate in Russell Cookes real estate team and David Webster, partner in the corporate and commercial team who will look at some of the differences between the purchase of a property via a standard assest transaction versus acquiring the shares in an SPV focusing on some of the key advantages and disadvantages of both approaches from a legal and practical perspective.
Lewis Jennings and Dillon Mistry, guest speakers from Paragon Brokers will provide a brief overview of the current role of warranty and indemnity (W&I) insurance and how it can assist in real estate transactions, offering enhanced protection and flexibility for both buyers and sellers.
Amanda graduated from Brunel University, with a joint honours degree, achieving a BSC and BA degree in Leisure Management and Television and film studies. Amanda started her career in a customer service role before joining the hotel group Le Meridien as an Events coordinator, she was in the hotel industry for seven years and during her time won an award from a major international airline for her outstanding attitude and dedication to customer service, which she achieved while working for the Rezidor hotel group in the position of Airline Crew Manager. Amanda has over 20 years experience in customer relations and event management.
