Sambrook’s Brewery Tour

On Thursday night the newly formed WSM beer society travelled to Battersea for a tour of Sambrook’s Brewery and to sample some of their beer.

After a last minute mix up, Kay from the marketing team and Jamie, the Australian Brewer, led us all around the brewery enthusiastically informing us of the methods and history of the Brewery.

The brewery itself was formed in 2008 by Duncan Sambrook, who traded in working for Deloitte in the city, for micro brewing in South West London after a brainwave at a London beer festival. He felt that apart from the big players like Fullers in Chiswick, there was space in the market for locally brewed beer in South West London. Now, 6 years since opening, they are producing a number of different beers including Wandle, Junction, Pumphouse Pale Ale, Powerhouse Porter and their newest addition, Lavender Hill Pale Ale.

A great evening and a lot of free beer was had by all and I am sure the WSM beer society will be visiting more breweries in due course.
