A combined WSM/Marks Bloom/Crestbridge XI took to the field in a replay of last year’s inaugural cricket match against Russell Cooke solicitors at the Barn Elms Cricket Ground in Barnes, South West London on Thursday evening.
WSM won the toss and elected to bat and set the run target. After a couple of lively overs from the opening Crestbridge pairing of Edwards and Hodgson, a moment of confusion caused Edwards to be run out as he scampered back to his crease. A notable innings followed from Girdwood who exceeded the maximum run allowance of 25 runs and was not out. He was supported in his endeavours by Sissling, Stebbing, Hoskin, Whelan and Christie who all scored runs. Russell Cooke bowled well and the team were dismissed for 92.
At this stage the money was on the lawyers to even the series, but the strong bowling attack of Whelan, Edwards, Sissling and Christie (not forgetting cracking overs from Fisher and Hodgson) together with tight fielding all around the wicket, contained the batsmen to 85 in their allotted 15 overs.

Amanda has over 20 years experience in customer relations and event management.
