On Sunday 5th May, a team from WSM had a very early start to get down to Leatherhead to participate in a 10k ‘fun run’ to raise money for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
Andrew Bithray, Simon Marsh, Hollie Luck, Kayley Hackshaw, Tom Blake, Ben Stanton, Asker Fawmy, Laura Carmichael and Phil Lancaster formed the WSM team and we were proud to be one of the largest corporate groups in attendance on the day.
Luckily we had decent weather, starting off with some cloud but getting progressively sunnier! We took on the challenge of running across (the rather hilly) Headley Heath, an area of outstanding beauty managed by the National Trust, of which we all succeeded as well as smashing our prior year times. Ben Stanton was the winner from the WSM team with a time of 45 mins coming in 21st place out of 159 runners. We were definitely on top of our game this year and we managed to appease some guilt of all that BBQ food eaten the evening before!

The course was a two lap route meaning that plenty of spectators were there to cheer us on including our very own Shakeel Butt, who also did a fantastic job of marshalling and had a much earlier start than us runners… It was great to have people rooting for us and we all really appreciated the support from the crowd.

WSM were proud to be sponsors of such a successful event and the profits from the day made by the Rotary Club will be donated to their designated charity, the Surrey Air Ambulance.
Amanda graduated from Brunel University, with a joint honours degree, achieving a BSC and BA degree in Leisure Management and Television and film studies. Amanda started her career in a customer service role before joining the hotel group Le Meridien as an Events coordinator, she was in the hotel industry for seven years and during her time won an award from a major international airline for her outstanding attitude and dedication to customer service, which she achieved while working for the Rezidor hotel group in the position of Airline Crew Manager. Amanda has over 20 years experience in customer relations and event management.
