Merton Chamber Business Breakfast
Wednesday morning, we headed to the Wimbledon Park Golf Club for the first in a series of breakfast networking events held by Merton Chamber of Commerce. We were delighted to sponsor the event, especially with such a fantastic speaker, Dominic O’Connell (the business editor from The Sunday Times), who discussed the current business climate.
It was an early start, with guests arriving at 8am to the dinning area of the top floor of the club building, over looking the beautiful grounds on the frosty morning. There were plenty of opportunities for networking and meeting new people over tea and coffee, and then later breakfast of large bacon rolls. Everyone then sat down for an introduction from Diana Sterck from Merton Chamber, followed by Dominic’s engaging talk, looking at the state of the business sector in the UK. He touched on various topics from inflation rates to oil prices, and Tesco’s decline in share price to the upcoming election and potential impacts. After a 20 minute talk, the floor was open for questions, and then finally a quick thank you speech from Paul, as sponsors.
The morning was a great success, with many people commenting on how much they enjoyed the talk. If you would be interested in attending the next Chamber networking breakfast, keep an eye on our twitter or contact Emilie.
