ICAEW Women in Accountancy

Yesterday, Wendy and Kayley headed over to the Chartered Accountant’s Hall in Moorgate to exhibit a WSM stand at the Institute's Women in Accountancy event.

The afternoon was set up for women either at university or sixth form who were considering a career in business and finance.

Emma Gilson, from the ICAEW, started off the afternoon with an introduction into the ACA. And then, the ladies had the pleasure of listening to Anna de Vere, Director of corporate training and development, at Colour Me Beautiful explaining about colours and how to dress appropriately yet fashionably and suited to your personality at interview.

Wendy joined the interview panel for the next stage which involved a number of questions from the potential ACA's asking about being a woman in finance, how to manage a career and family and work-life balance. It was really interesting to hear the points of view of female accountants in all stages of their lives, as well as across a range of companies.

The evening concluded with networking and cakes where WSM had a prominent stand and Wendy and Kayley discussed career options with several potential employees and interns.
