Drama, passion and controversy surrounded this years Merton Business Awards as Admiral Scaffolding Group swept up a triple gold as Best Green Business, Best Business for Training and Development and overall Business of the year 2012 at the awards dinner hosted by James Cannon at the All England club last night.
In his acceptance speech, Admiral director Terry Withers took opportunity to voice frustration, lambasting the banks for their lack of support for the small and medium business sector. Sadly many of the high street banks were demonstrating this by their failure to attend the event this year with the notable exception of Ian Noble and his team from Lloyds.
In a contrasting display of passion, Sylvia Anderson was overwhelmed and ‘speechless’ to be judged Entrepreneur of the Year and Nihara Krause had the room spellbound with stories of her wonderful work with STEM4, her charity who were the surprise winners of the Commitment to the Community award.
A very successful evening and one which WSM were proud to sponsor.
