Accountants get bendy!

We all know that sitting at your desk for long periods of time is bad for your posture and getting regular exercise is important. Did you also know that regular exercise and time away from the computer is good for the mind?

As a positive attempt to encourage a healthier office, a number of the team have signed up to Pilates classes with local firm Jiva Health. The class has proved very popular with around 15 of the team popping around the corner to the studio above Wimbledon station every Thursday lunch time and so far there is no sign of any waning enthusiasm after four weeks of bending and stretching!

The sessions include moves that are designed specifically to address areas that can arise from sitting at a desk, with lots of core exercises for posture, stretching of the back and working out the hip flexors. Emma Beattie’s calming voice leads the team through the moves and we come back to the office walking taller, feeling happier and much less stressed!

If you would like to learn a little more about good posture, Tom recently wrote an article which you can read here and for more information on Jiva Health click here. Finally, a big thank you goes out to the partners for having an enlightened approach to office health and for enabling these types of opportunities to be built into the working day.
