Running exactly 3.1 miles for smiles

The weather forecast didn’t look great the night before the event and as it happens it wasn’t great on the day, but despite the lack of sunshine and the downpour of rain this didn’t dampen the spirits of Annie Lee, Ben Colyer and Lindsay Hinrichsen the three team members of WSM who with sheer determination ran 13.1 miles for our charity of the year ‘Operation Smile’. Arriving at 8am and joined by 16000 runners they took their place at the start of the route in Green Park which took them through four of the eight Royal Parks, including Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens. On closed roads the runners were able to safely take in the iconic landmarks, such as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament before crossing the finish line in just over 2 hours. Congratulations to all the runners who took part in the race and to our fantastic three who managed to raise an amazing £1340.00 in aid of Operation Smile.
