The firm operates in an atmosphere of openness, knowledge sharing and support. This culture is promoted by a physical open-plan office environment where chatting to partners is as natural and easy as exchanging pleasantries with a new graduate trainee.
Teams are located together in areas of expertise with trainees sitting amongst client managers, directors and partners, learning, mentoring and sharing knowledge.
People are at the heart of any service organisation and it is our people that are central to our business. The firm has been a recognised Investor in People since 1995 and we continually receive praise from assessors during the reassessment visits.
We support and encourage all members of staff to engage in training courses and workshops, with training of graduates to become Chartered Accountants at the heart of our program.
In addition, the continuing professional development of qualified staff remains a vital element in demonstrating our passion for lifetime learning. Individual needs are identified through our appraisal process and external training runs in parallel with our lunchtime update workshops.
Specialist skills are also encouraged with a high take up of tax training for the chartered Institute of taxation, bookkeeping skills with the Association of Accounting Technicians and advanced level mastery of Microsoft Excel software along with many others.
The final key ingredient is good internal communication and our meeting rooms are used regularly for team meetings. We enjoy celebrating all staff members’ birthdays and exam successes, have fresh fruit around the office, provide a package of optional benefits including gym membership at a discounted price and hold two firm-wide events in the Summer and at Christmas.
